This El Camino was givin to me by my parents for my 15th birthday as a two tone brown and tan rust bucket. My dad and I started on it that winter of 2004. It now has new rear quarter panels, both rocker panels and hood. The rear frame from the wheel wells back was also replaced by my dad. The paint is a 1972 Chevelle Cranberry Red with black vinyl stripes. The original 305 engine was blown up by my sister driving 60 mph in 1st or 2nd gear because the indicator wasnt working. So that was replaced with an old chevy 350 out of an old pickup. And of course I had to put dual exhaust on it too with Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers. Thats when the fun really started. My dad had the idea of putting a TBI fuel injection system on the car so I rebuilt a Chevy 350, with roller hydrolic cam and lifters and such and he did all the computer and wiring stuff. Another engine upgrade was the Edelbrock Performer TBI polished aluminum intake. We also put a rebuilt with shift kit 4L80-E in at the same time. About a month later i put in a Auburn Posi with 3:73 gears. The car is completly undercoated. This car is drivin everyday to school, work, parties, it goes everywhere with me. I drove it my first winter even but now it gets parked during those times. I love this car and I learned a lot from it through all the hard work I put into it. This is not just mommy and daddys gift, i put a ton of time and hard work in this car to make it what it is and try hard to keep it that way.
