This car has a huge history in my family, originally my grandpa bought a 1967 Caprice with a 396, and in the late 70's his daughter wrecked it, now money was tight and they had just bought a new car, and my grandpa decided they couldn't make it on just one car, so he bought a 1967 Impala it had a 283 which he decided was scrap and he put the 396 and th 400 in it's place, then he sold the car to my dad, my dad owned the car for many years and then gave the car to his brother in law, so he could give it to his daughter, but my dad's brother in law scraped it and sold it for parts, what a great guy. My dad had been totally out of muscle cars for a long time, when he found out that I loved them, so my junior year of high school he bought this, it's almost identical to his except that it is a Super Sport.  then in may of 2007 the car was stolen and striped, now we are in the process of restoring it
